Yam and potato recipe
Yam and potato is very tasty with garam masala preparation in tomato gravy, the gravy is thick. Try this tasty recipe. It is good with roti, rice, and bread
Ingredients
Yam - 250 gm
Potato - 2
Capsicum - 1
Onionn - 2
Green chilly - 5
Tomato - 10
Garlic - 5 cloves
Chilly powder - 2 teaspoon
Coriander powder - 2 teaspoon
Turmeric - ½ teaspoon
Garam masala - ½ teaspoon
Oil - 4 tablespoon
Salt - 2 teaspoon
Sugar - 1 teaspoon
Preparation
Chop onion, capsicum, green chilly, garlic and tomato separately
Remove skins of potato and yam. Rinse and cut it into 1 inch cubes.
In a pressure cooker add yam, potato, salt, turmeric and sufficient water to cook.
Cover and put on higher flame till 1stwhistle, then lower the flame for 3 minutes and higher the flame till 2ndwhistle. Switch off the flame. After 10 minutes open the cooker.
In a pan add oil and heat well. Add onion, garlic, green chilly and sauté, lower flame and add chilly powder, coriander powder, garam masala , turmeric and stir well for 30 seconds Add capsicum and tomato and stir well sauté for 1 minute and add 3 tablespoons of water, to avoid burning of masala, cover and cook till tomato paste is formed.
Add cooked yam and potato with water to this tomato paste. Boil well in higher flame add salt and sugar to adjust taste. Add water if necessary to dilute the thickness of gravy. And boil for 3 minutes. Now the yam potato curry is ready to serve.
