Butter milk cake
Today March 5, 2012 is my birthday and I have no baking powder in my stock. I want to make a cake with buttermilk and baking soda. I tried and it was a success. I want to share the recipe with you. Butter milk cake is very soft and tasty. You can also make cake without baking powder, and also with butter milk, It is very tasty. It is an eggless cake. I like eggless cake because they are very soft than egg cakes and tasty.
Ingredients
All purpose flour/maida - 2 cup/400 gm
Baking soda - 1 teaspoon
Sugar powder - 1 cup
Butter milk - 1and ½ cup
Vanilla essence - 1 teaspoon
Oil - ½ cup
Salt - 1/8 teaspoon
Frosting
Chocolate bar/diary milk chocolate - 50 gm
Milk cream - 2 tablespoon full
Sugar powder - 2 tablespoon
White chocolate/Milky bar - 10 gm
Preparation
Sieve flour and baking soda 2 times
Add salt and sugar powder and mix and sieve 2 times.
Take the flour mixture to a mixing bowl add 1and 1/4 cup buttermilk, oil, vanilla essence to the top of the flour
And mix slowly with a big spoon, stir without forming lumps and stir till smooth and shiny batter form
If the batter is very thick add spoons of butter milk from the remaining. I used 1 and ½ cup butter milk for this preparation.
Prepare your cake pan by spreading oil lightly and spread 2 teaspoon flour without hand and remove the extra powder, the cake pan is ready
Pour cake batter to it.
Preheat oven at 200 C and bake the cake on lower rack for 20 minutes and bake at 180C for 30 minutes.
Check the cake by dipping a pointed knife at the centre of the cake. If it is not sticky, the cake is ready. If the knife is sticky repeat baking for 5 minutes and check with knife.
Cool on the rack for 10 minutes and take out side and cool for 10 minutes and remove the cake from the pan by turning it.
Frosting
Cool the cake in freezer for 20 to 30 minutes. Take out side the cake from freezer
Take chocolate bar in a microwave bowl melt it at 900W for 1 minute stir well with a spoon
Add milk cream, sugar powder and microwave at 900W for 1 minute stir well to combine
Cool in freezer for 3-5 minutes
And pour the chocolate sauce over the cooled cake and freeze it for 15 minutes to set and take outside from freezer
Grate the white chocolate, and spread it on the cake or decorate in any shape as you like. Put it on the freezer for 10 minutes or for 2 hour. Now the cake is ready to serve.
