Garbanzo beans also known as white chick pea
Garbanzo beans 500 gm
Potato 1
Onion1
Green chilly 4
Garlic 4
Salt 1and 1/2 teaspoon
Turmeric ½ teaspoon
Fennel seeds powder 1 teaspoon
Garam masala ½ teaspoon
Meat masala 1 teaspoon
Chilly powder 2 teaspoon
Coriander powder 1 and ½ teaspoon
Tamarind 1 small lemon size
Grate potato
Soak tamarind in hot water, for 15 minutes and take pulp 2, 3 times by adding water
Soak kabuli chana in hot water for 3 hours
Pressure cook kabuli chana in sufficient water, with 1 teaspoon oil and turmeric, cook till tender. And add salt
Chop onion, garlic, green chilly
In a hot pan add oil and mustard seeds, when it splutter, add onion, garlic, green chilly and sauté lower flame add chilly powder, coriander powder, garam masala, meat masala, and fennel powder and sauté add grated potato stir and cook for a minute add tamarind pulp and boil and add to cooked chana and boil once and switch off flame.
This dish is the favorite of north india best served with battura, also serve with rice, roti and bread.
